Read and Succeed
The Read and Succeed training sessions, train volunteers in tutoring below grade level students in reading. Each trainee is provided with a Read and Succeed training booklet, which contains invaluable information on the academic side of reading to students. Tutors are required to volunteer at least one (1) hour per week, per semester; futhermore, we will place you at the school of your choice.
In an effort to continue to grow, WCSD Volunteer Services developed a training video to assist community volunteers who wish to become Reading tutors; as well as to aid those volunteers who wish to review the training. Please click on Read & Succeed Traing Video.

Read & Succeed Testimonials
Thank You Mrs. Demosthenes 1st grade class for the beautiful letters.
Dear Lisa-Marie Lightfoot,
Enclosed are letters from most of our students in Reading Buddies at Peavine Elementary School . The students were very grateful for the books, and the tutors were happy to give them something that would increase literacy at school and at home. We are awaiting the next shipment and looking forward to working with you in the future. Thank you from all of us at Peavine.
Sincerely,
Ryan Cross

Lisa,
We are very excited about the books! They are wonderful…thank you! We want to send a thank you to those who donated the books to us, but I am unsure of how many to get. I was thinking about creating a thank you on the computer, having the kids sign it, and then making several color copies. Would that be a better idea?
