Ways to Give
Ways to Give / Funding Sources
The Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donors may give to the Focus on Literacy Initiative, an Education Collaborative Program, or, with the Foundation's assistance, may initiate a new program designed to match your interest to the growing number of needs and challenges faced at school district.
Annual Gifts
Businesses, corporations and individuals can pledge annual financial commitments and resources to the Education Foundation.
Partners in Education
Working with the Education Collaborative, businesses are needed as Partners in Education with our Focus on Literacy schools. Partners support a school's literacy program by providing funding for literacy resources (such as grade-level books), and/or participating in meaningful activities at the school, such as reading to and listening to children read.
Planned Gifts
The Education Foundation will honor an individual or family through your planned or estate gift.
Community Service Groups
Local community service organizations can pledge financial gifts and/or resources to our Focus on Literacy schools, or take on a special project to help our schools succeed in literacy. Community Service Groups can also aid efforts through the Education Collaborative.
State, Federal and Private Grants
The Education Foundation actively seeks state, federal, and private funding sources that fulfill its Focus on Literacy initiative as well as funds to support Education Collaborative programs. The Education Foundation continually works with other private foundations whose priorities also support literacy improvements, realizing that collaborative efforts could pay much bigger dividends than separate approaches.
Promise to our Donors
A contribution to the Education Foundation will support our Focus on Literacy priority, an Education Collaborative Program, or the Washoe County School District in an area of donor choice. Donors may name a fund, a program, honor a loved one, friend or an organization, or remain anonymous. The Education Foundation is committed to ensuring our contributors that your gifts will be well spent, and monitored for accountability, measurement and evaluation in an effective and timely manner. Your financial support will make a difference to the children in our community who are struggling to read.
